Editor and Author
I’m an experienced freelance editor, award-winning author, and former journalist.
As an editor, I work in fiction and non-fiction. My clients include traditional and hybrid presses, self-publishing authors, writers preparing manuscripts for submission to agents and publishers, and academics and research professionals.
I help writers on both the micro and macro levels, digging into the technical aspects of their sentences while offering suggestions on the bigger picture, be that the elements of storytelling or the organization of an argument.
As an author, I’m critically acclaimed and internationally published. I’ve written three collections, one novel, and over twenty individually published short stories. I won the Danuta Gleed Literary Award and have been a finalist for two Ottawa Book Awards and two ReLit Awards. I’ve also received generous grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council.
As a journalist, I worked across Canada as well as abroad, with bylines in small community newspapers as well as large national and international outlets.
